My consulting experience is deep and varied. I was selected as a Communication Consultant by hospital leaders and my peers to help physicians and nurses in all disciplines with their communication skills. In this role (2013-2022), numerous individuals benefited from my skills and expertise, as I helped them better relate to their patients and greatly improve their performance on PX surveys. I have consulted for Telehealth care delivery systems, and the development of three national EM Residency Programs. I presently serve on several national AI, healthcare technology, patient care & patient experience, workflow efficiency, mentoring, education, and workplace violence committees. I consult, teach, and educate others on communication skills, including conflict management, conflict resolution, and negotiation. These consulting experiences have in part been developed from my leadership experiences, research, teaching, and publications.
In addition to coaching CEOs, CMOs, CIOs, and CNOs, I serve and have served as an Advisor, Mentor, and Consultant for several start-up healthcare companies. I am well-respected and have received accolades in the industry.
I currently serve as an independent consultant for Stedman's Medical Dictionary (part of Wolters Kluwer) since 2018.
